Day 4 - Osmington Bay

Wow! What an amazing day! We had sunshine and HEAT from the start of the day. It was an absolutely perfect day for the coastal study and we have lots of very pink faces tonight.

We set off from the centre in the bus and had a steep walk down a long path with loads of stones and gravel on (Ryan kept slipping and sliding which made me jump every time! - at least no blood this time you'll be pleased to hear, the McKee family!) It didn't help Mrs M, Mrs V and I when a whole team of marines were running up the path in the opposite direction doing a training drill - obviously they had to have their shirts off as it was so hot!! Made it very difficult to concentrate and walk in a straight line, as I'm sure you can imagine.:)

We then saw the amazing coastline and geographical features (ask your children about stacks and stumps!) Next, we had to walk up quite a steep hill -some of the children insisted it was a mountain!! It was a hot climb due to the weather but everyone managed it and we soon had a steep walk down a path to get to Lulworth Cove. The children enjoyed spending some time on the beach, and some had a quick paddle too, but mostly they raced to the ice cream shop for a well-earned treat!

By the way, for those parents who were waiting for Mrs M and I to have a dip in the ocean today - we would have LOVED to - we watched some swimmers with envy and the children enjoyed watching some people on kayaks going between the rock arches (probably the same place the McKee's have mentioned swimming around).

Roger there were no police - we all voted your joke to be LAME - you can do better!

Tonight as I am typing this blog entry the darlings are all getting their glad rags on for the disco - very important event here at PGL. Mrs M, Mrs V and I have dusted off our sparkly shoes and we're all set to show them our moves ... maybe not! They are also attempting to pack their bags ready to leave tomorrow - should be fun to see how they managethat job! Some are genuinely sad to leave here as they have had such a fun time, but I think they will all come home happy with the week they have had and full of stories to tell you - once they crash out in their own bed! They are tired now that the week is coming to an end, but I think that's a good sign.

I have had such a great time spending the week with them - it is a special bonding experience - I know Mrs M feels the same, being their class teacher, and Mrs V as their class governor. They have made me very proud of them, as their behaviour and attitude has been typical of a Crondall group - long may it continue. Having said that, Mrs M, Mrs V and I will be happy to hand them back to you tomorrow, as it has been a busy and tiring week for us too!

We hope to see you by 3:30pm tomorrow at the school, but if you want to check with Mrs Hudson before that time, just give her a call to check. (I'm glad it's been quiet for you this week Aimee - I have a list of things for you to do for me next week to keep you busy!!!! I know you miss me really!!:)

It's a bit sad to be posting this final part of the blog, but please post some comments so we can read them out after breakfast tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has posted something during the week - it has kept me going - and the children have loved hearing me read them out - yes, even your comments Roger!!!

See you all tomorrow!

Mrs R, Mrs M, Mrs V  xxx

It sounds as though you have a FANTASTIC day - with great "views" for everyone!!! You still haven't given a valid reason for not going for a dip today Megan, but I'm sure that your disco dancing tonight will make up for it!!

  10. Coming back so soon! I thought it was next week....that presents me with a bit of a problem...I rented your room out.

Oliver says he expects you to be able to give him a full page on Hydraulic action and coastal disposition! (Something geographical to do with the coast line I think.) He is missing you really.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, hope you got me a nice present as it is my birthday!!!!! Did you forget? You can always get me a bag of crisps from the motorway service station!...if you have any money left over.
