First night went relatively well and all had a pretty good night's sleep. The children appreciated the bacon and hash browns for breakfast at the civilised time of 8am! We then set off for a full day of activities. Katherine excelled at trampolining - she is ready for the Olympics team, Ryan overcame his cold feet and did a brilliant tightrope walk up in the clouds with a beaming smile (bless!),Archie wasn't sure about the quad bikes but overcam his inital apprehension and had two goes! Georgina and Ellie were like women possessed with their fencing - watch out Roger!! Matthew was annoyed with himself at not climbing to the top of the wall the first time but persevered and managed it the second time.We have seen some wonderful team work and support - the children have been really encouraging of each other and very supportive.
The children have visited the shop and many have stocked up on their sugar! After dinner they all wrote a postcard - some of them SERIOUSLY didn't know their address - these are Year 6 children, parents - please help them to learn their address and phone numbers!!! Hopefully they'll arrive before we get home - depends if the postie can read some of the writing! Good luck!
Tonight they are having a group campfire, and then hopefully straight to sleep. Don't worry about not wearing clean clothes, Charlotte ( a woman after my own heart!), all of them have had a shower already and another one to follow tonight!
Thanks for your comments - the children loved hearing them this morning - so please post some more. Roger, your daughter was embarrassed about your witty remarks - nothing new there hey?!
Looking forward to more activities tomorrow - raft building, archery, mountain biking, problem solving and sensory trail, then a day at the beach on Thursday doing coastal study.

8am and a cooked breakfast, what star this hotel! Sounds as though everyone is being kept very busy and is having a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteSounds as though you are all having a fab time. Is it true Megan has volunteered to put an apple on her head for the archery !(LOL). Maybe the address situation is so that any lost children can't find there way home. Glad the weather is on your side, enjoy the activities tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSleep well, look forward to tomorrow's blog.
You all must be really missing school.
ReplyDeleteGet to sleep and give those teachers some rest!

p.s I thought it was a grape not an apple!
Hi Matthew!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're all having lots of fun. Well done Matthew - we're proud of you! Make sure you all make the most of the cooked breakfasts - can't guarantee these will continue once you're home! Matthew - don't forget to change your underpants!!
Love Janet, Mike and Holly :)xx
Wow, it all sounds such fun - and a cooked breakfast at 8am! Plus I am now the only one in our family not to have been quad biking!
ReplyDeleteNext year can I come too???
Have a wonderful day tomorrow, I'm not sure what you are doing (it sounds as though you did most of it today). Sleep well all of you.
Tons of love

Madison, I hope your very very loud snoring isn't keeping the whole class awake at night :<P
ReplyDeleteMum said she still heard you from Farnham.
Have a great time building rafts today! Hands up who wants to be Captain Jack Sparrow! Aharrrr!
Love
Katrina, Ian and Hop-a-long Charlotte xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteGlad you arrived safetly and are enjoying yourselves! Jade, I hope you had as much fun on the Quad bikes as you did before.
Try not to hit any mountain bikers whilst doing Archery, and if you do, use the raft you built to escape!
Love Dad n Co.
Hi di Hi
ReplyDeleteNothing changes, I can just picture you all with those duvets and nobody told you that the duvet fairy only visits you at home!
I think you are in the same chalets Crondall had before, I bet you can't get as filthy as we did whilst searching for fossils at the beach - the rails in front make good washing lines!!
Carry on having a good time and don't eat too much before the raft building.

Coastal study eh? I gather that just along the beach there is a a pub called the Smugglers Inn; serving smugglers since the C13th apparently. That might be good for some coastal study, for most of Thursday... Thursday evening and on into Friday!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for Georgie being good with a sword....that just cuts me up!
Oliver has just said "Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons"
Sounds like another amazing day!
ReplyDeleteLuke, stay away from those rocks at Lulworth (LOL), I'm sure the teachers won't appreciate a trip to the local A&E like last time ;0P
Enjoy. xxx
